AHA study explores risks of surgical errors during angioplasty

Angioplasty is becoming an increasingly common medical procedure in Maryland and across the country. Each year, more than 1 million Americans undergo this procedure. However, this is not a procedure that is free from the risk of medical malpractice.

Amputation leads to misdiagnosis lawsuit in Maryland

Parents of a 6-year-old double-amputee filed a medical malpractice lawsuit in Anne Arundel Circuit Court last week. The Maryland parents say a doctor and hospital are liable for failure to treat an infection by not giving their child the proper medical treatment he badly needed. They believe that a failure to properly treat their son's infection with antibiotics led to the amputation of both of his legs.
