Plastic surgery errors have lifelong effects

Medical malpractice accidents are not confined to any one kind of medicine or medical practice, nor are surgical errors any less concerning or serious if they involve elective procedures, such as plastic surgery, versus non-elective procedures like a lumpectomy.

In fact, surgical errors stemming from plastic surgery operations can result in serious harm, such as permanent disfigurement, ruptured implants, infections and even death.

Maryland residents may have heard about a recent medical malpractice lawsuit that has been filed against a former cast member of the popular television series "Dr. 90210."

The lawsuit alleges that the famous Beverly Hills plastic surgeon botched a breast implant job. The fitness instructor who filed the lawsuit against the doctor alleges that following the surgical procedure she had open wounds and scarring.

The fitness instructor, who is also a model, alleges in her complaint that negligence and surgical errors resulted in delayed healing of the wounds around her breasts. The woman claims that the doctor's surgical errors resulted in permanent disfigurement. She also claims that she suffered pain and suffering and emotional distress. Due to the nature of her job, the patient also claims she lost thousands of dollars in paid work as a result of her injuries.

Medical malpractice and patient injuries resulting from botched plastic surgery operations are not uncommon. While there are many good plastic surgeons practicing in the field, there are also some bad ones. If someone experiences the unfortunate results of a plastic surgery operation gone wrong, it is important that they seek the right information about legal options. Surgical errors, such as the one described above, can be both psychologically and physically devastating.
